Q. Can I still use Office Accelerator if my Internet goes down?

A. Yes, Office Accelerator includes a mobile sync option that provides a synchronized local copy of your database providing full functionality offline.

Q. What do I do if my company size grows?

A. Adding additional Office Accelerator users can be accomplished within minutes. Simply purchase additional licenses and add your new users.

Q. Do I need to download anything to run Office Accelerator?

A.  Your Office Accelerator phone book and calendar can be accessed directly through any browser without the need for any downloads or add-ons.  The Accelerator full client and mobile sync software will be downloaded and installed to your PC.

Q. Is any training required in order to start using Office Accelerator?

A. Office Accelerator is easy to use and in most cases users need very little if any assistance getting started.  However, we do provide an online training guide supplemented with training videos that help you get the most out of Accelerator.

Q. Does Microsoft Exchange provide similar groupware features? 

A. No. Microsoft Exchange provides some generic groupware features, but does not provide nearly the same feature set available in Office Accelerator. Exchange also requires additional costly hardware, software, and Internet services to implement features that come standard in Office Accelerator at no additional cost.

Q. Do I have to buy any additional software or hardware to run Office Accelerator?  

A. A computer running Microsoft Windows with Internet access is all that is required for the basic features. However, Microsoft Word or WordPerfect is required to take advantage of the Accelerator Macro Suite for mail merging documents. Other features, such as BlackBerry Sync, Palm Sync, QuickBooks integration, etc., require the respective third-party products.

Q. How do I get new Office Accelerator features and upgrades?

A. Office Accelerator includes a built-in auto-update program that will keep your software current.  In addition, Office Accelerator can be downloaded from our support site 24/7.

Q. Does Office Accelerator run on a MAC?

A. No, Office Accelerator does not run natively on the MAC. However, you can access Office Accelerator from the MAC using the OaMobile.com web interface.  You can also run Office Accelerator using a PC emulator such as VMware.    

Q. What are the hardware requirements to run Office Accelerator?

A. Any PC capable of running Windows XP or higher will run Office Accelerator.

Q. Will Office Accelerator work on a dialup connection?

A. Yes, but it will be very slow.  A high speed internet connection such as DSL is recommended. 

Q. What is the Office Accelerator Service average uptime?

A. Baseline Data Systems performs regularly scheduled maintenance and on rare occasions when the service is not available, your data will be accessible via the mobile sync feature which stores your database on your local drive.  Baseline Data Systems has maintained a 99.9% annual uptime since 2005.

Q. How much storage do I get with the Office Accelerator service?

A. Office Accelerator offers unlimited storage for your calendar and phone book data. 

Q. What about Backups?

A. Your Office Accelerator data resides on servers with a tremendous level of redundancy, so your Office Accelerator data is in a constant state of backup and can be restored from almost any point in time.

A. Yes, you can run the mobile sync option which provides an exact copy of your database.  In addition, Baseline Data Systems will make available a backup copy of your data via secure download upon request.
